Door lock with latch and night bolt

 

Central Europe, first half of 18th century

 

Malleable iron. Bolt mechanism inside a case with tracery, the lid of which is decorated with engraved foliate and ribbon ornamentation. Pierced support plate hammered into acanthus leaves. Forged latch handle. Equipped with a night bolt and catch (a sliding screw head in the upper section of the case). Decorated with hardening and engraving.
